The multi-functional copier and printer integration provided by PaperCut MF
enables tracking, charging or billing
of "off the glass" copies.
PaperCut MF is able to track "off
the glass" copying at 2 different
levels:
- Using hardware terminals, providing
compatibility with all copier types.
- Using software / embedded solutions,
targeting selected new generation
devices. This method removes the
need for any additional hardware.
This page explains both methods
and the solutions available for each.
hardware terminals

Hardware copier terminals are devices
that plug into a multi-functional
copier or printer via an access port
and then interface with PaperCut MF
via your ethernet network. Terminals
are a hardware neutral solution and
work with most multi-functional copier
and printer makes and models both
young and old.
The PaperCut Software development
team has targeted several leading
terminal brands, including:

software / embedded solutions
Multi-functional copiers and printers
are getting "smarter" with
every generation. Most devices now
have LCD touchscreens and the ability
to run custom applications. We have
recognized this change and are working
with some of the leading manufacturers
to run PaperCut MF software directly
on the multi-functional copier or
printer itself.
The PaperCut Software development
team have developed solutions for
several major copier brands, including:
- Ricoh,
via Ricoh Embedded Software Architecture
(ESA)
- Sharp,
via Sharp Open Systems Architecture
(OSA)
- Other devices (currently under
development)
